2003 CDS Highlights
Past Years' Highlights
The 2003 CDS in Scottsdale, like its predecessors over the years, was a superb professional development event as well as a chance to network with one's peers.
The 2003 CDS in Scottsdale, like its predecessors over the years, was a superb professional development event as well as a chance to network with one's peers.
Beginning with the opening Commissioners Roundtable (that's moderator Bill Bailey above, with Arkansas' commissioner, Mike Pickens, Arizona's Charles Cohen, Jann Goodpaster of Oregon and Director Kevin McCarty of Florida), the hundreds of participants (including the group at left at a breakout session) seemed to be having a rewarding time.
Highlights of the '03 event included presentation of the new AIEs and CIEs (right) and presentation of several awards (below): the Schrader-Nelson Award to Gerald Milsky, the Al Greer Achievement Award to R. Weldon Hazlewood, Paul Bicica's presentation of the President's Award to Jann Goodpaster and passage of the president's gavel to Bruce Ramge.
In addition to the many excellent breakouts, another highlight of the Scottsdale meeting was the panel on third-party vendors, with moderator Art Chartrand (left, below), plus Birny Birnbaum, Don Koch, Mike Woolbright and Don Cleasby.
